We also wanted to recognize our runners-up for their commendable efforts. Ayeza K, Violet H, Izzy P, Anna G, Leila S and Alicia O received a sketching pencil set, enabling them to further develop their drawing skills. These children should be very proud of their achievements.
Art for Everyone Workshops July 2023
Fifty four children from Years 3, 4 and 5 had a great time on Friday when one of our parents, Hampshire based artist Steve Glynn, from Art for Everyone, held art workshops where our pupils created their very own sculptures. Linking to their work in Art on Henry Rousseau,
Year 3 created some amazing tigers. Year 4 created some fearsome looking dragons linked to their Viking learning and Year 5, who have been studying the Ancient Greeks, created Cyclops and Sirens. The children were delighted that at the end of the day they could take their fabulous artwork home.
Year 5 Hockney Inspired Art March 2023
In Year 5, children studied the work of Hockney and were inspired to create their own landscape paintings. They learned the technical skills of representing perspective and using complementary and contrasting colours. They were given the choice of representing the landscape in a more traditional way or in an abstract way.
Look at the amazing artwork they created.
