School Times
- Children using the Breakfast Club (which operates in the School Hall from 7.45am) remain the responsibility of parents until they are signed in to Breakfast Club, at which point the duty of care passes to SCL staff.
- The school gates are opened each morning by Mr Howard and Mrs Westhead at 8.30am. Children should arrive in school between 8.30am and 8.40am, giving them time to make their way to their classroom and organise their belongings before registration at 8.45am.
- School starts with registration at 8.45 am, when children should be in their seats ready to start work. Children arriving after 8.45am will be recorded as being late. Repeated lateness will prompt a discussion between school and home to resolve this.
- Children are not permitted to arrive before 8.30am and may not be left to play unsupervised on the school site.
- School ends at 3.15pm for Lower School children and 3.20 pm for Upper School children. Children should be collected promptly at the end of the school day. Therefore the children are in school for 33 hours and 45 minutes a week.
- We understand that there are rare occasions when parents may be unavoidably delayed and consequently a little late to collect their children. If you are going to be held up, please let the office know so that we can reassure your child and ensure they are safe.
- Under no circumstances, should children be left to wait unaccompanied on the school site. Of course, in emergencies, we do hold on to children after school, if their parent is delayed in collecting them.
- All Lower School children (Year 3 and Year 4) must be collected from the Collection Point in the woods at 3.15pm.
- Upper School children are dismissed at 3.20pm; they may be collected from an arranged meeting point or, at parents’ discretion, may walk home themselves or with friends.
- For children attending a school club, prior to using SCL after school care, parents must ensure that a ‘bolt on’ is booked in advance with SCL. If school clubs are cancelled, for any reason, then it is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their booking with SCL is changed. It is not acceptable to leave children in school unattended until the time that the school club would normally finish.
- Please note that leaving your child in school unattended at the end of the school day, other than in pre-arranged circumstances, may incur a charge; this will exceed the cost of after school care with SCL.
